Insured Mail Service
Under the insured facility, a sender of an insured article can obtain a compensation for a loss of or for any damage to the article or its contents while transmitting by post not exceeding the insured value. The compensation may be equal to the less amount of both insured amount and the actual value of the article lost or the damage caused.
All the post offices and sub post offices provide the service.
Registered letters can be insured.
Maximum weight of an article: – 2 kgs
Maximum Insurance fee:- Rs:25000.00
Calculation of insurance fee: – Rs:100.00 for every Rs:1000.00 or part thereof the insured fee up to Rs:25000.00
Prepayment of all Charges on the article: Postage of the article + Registration fee+ Insurance fee
The way of making payment: – Affixing stamps on the article for all charges.
Every insured article must be enclosed in a strong cover or envelop which must be securely affixed with gum and impressed private mark keeping spaces. Support and instructions can be taken at the counter.
