Parcel Post is a service offered by Sri Lanka Post for delivery of postal parcels which items that are not classified as letters/documents or small packets.
These parcels typically weigh up to 30 kilograms (Weight limits vary by country), in accordance with the regulations set by Sri Lanka Post and any applicable international agreements with destination countries.

Size Limits:.
Maximum length of the longest side of the parcel: is either 100 cm or 150 cm, depending on the destination country. (Please refer to the country list below for specific maximum length limits)

All items sent via Parcel Post must comply with Sri Lanka Post’s Regulations as well as the prohibited, restricted, and dangerous goods regulations of the destination country. Customers are strongly advised to review these policies carefully before dispatching any parcel.
- Customers must ensure that all parcels are strongly and securely packaged to withstand handling and transportation. Poor or inadequate packaging may result in damage or non-acceptance of the parcel.
When selecting the sea parcel method, please note that it typically takes significantly longer to deliver compared to air parcel service. Choose the shipping method that best suits your delivery timeframe.
Customers can choose Air, SAL, or Sea as the service method for Parcel Post.
Air – Fastest option; sent by plane
SAL –Sent by air when space is available.
Sea – Sent by ship with longer delivery time.

- All postal parcels arriving in Sri Lanka are subject to customs inspection and clearance by Sri Lanka Customs.
- If a parcel requires clearance, Sri Lanka Post will issue an official notification, including the relevant documents, to the recipient.
- This notification provides instructions for collecting the parcel or arranging delivery to the recipient’s address.
